We Have Grass!

Green grass even! The orange tree should be getting some friends next week. Cross your fingers as we attempt to transplant orangie. The garden didn't make it in this summer, but I have big hopes for next year. It'll be all set to grow lots and lots of zucchini. Now we need to figure out how to make the yard Zoe and Zeus-proof.

The wall is done too - all it needs is a coat of paint. Painters are scheduled for next week.

The tile is coming along...

Back to the Backyard

Everything is moving along, not necessarily on schedule but we're getting closer. The rock is up on the wall as well as a coat of stucco

The house and the patio also have a couple coats of stucco. Should be done next week. And the sprinklers are in - with hopes of actual grass in the next week.

The inside has the drywall up and a coat of primer. The cabinets are on order and we're getting ready to lay down the tile.

Erie, PA

We also spent a weekend in Pennsylvania. The camera didn't make it out of my suitcase, but it was another fun, relaxing weekend. Here's our prizes (?) from the white elephant gift exchange.

We stayed at a cottage on Edinboro Lake

Had the family reunion at Presque Isle State Park

Vacation

David and I took a well-needed break from the backyard and spent our 1 year anniversary in Monterey. I think we even went one whole day without mentioning the word "backyard"!

We had dinner on the wharf (the view was great, the food - not so great)

Sat outside and listened to 10 til 2 at Bullwackers

Went hiking at Point Lobos State Park

Walked along Carmel Beach

Had lunch at Pebble Beach

Visited the Aquarium as well as the Candy Barn David has fond memories of. (No sign of the Tic Tac Toe Chicken)

Dinner at the Chart House
