It's Our Lucky Week!

That's what I was told by the Modesto Bee. Someone canceled (not so lucky for them) their celebration announcement and we got their spot! So those of you in the Modesto area have something to look forward to this Sunday :) I also sent one in to the Erie Times-News - but it may take awhile to be printed. I'm sure my aunts will be on the look out for us!

It's been a long week too...and it's only Thursday! David spent Saturday and Sunday on the phone with the airline trying to get the best flights for our honeymoon...using frequent flier miles. A good 6 phone calls later and it is finally booked!

I spent Monday and Tuesday on the phone reserving our rooms for our honeymoon and re-reserving our rooms because they reserved the wrong room type. Understandable, seeing how each room name differs by one word only...complicated by very slow computers and network problems...and that's a long time spent on hold. But it's finally final! One week at the all-inclusive Sandals resort in the Bahamas. I got my passport pictures taken and the application is being processed. Something for us to look forward too :)
A block of rooms at the Doubletree are in the process of being reserved. They'll give me a 3 digit code once the rooms are in the system and I can pass that along to those of you eager to make reservations for June 23rd.
Today is Thanksgiving and I'd say a day off from wedding planning, except Dave and I discussed limos over cereal this morning - while eating at the new table...
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Three Years

1,095 days...26,280 hours....a whole bunch of minutes...(you get the idea)...Seems like a long time? As of Nov 15th, Lisa and I have been together 3 years now and it still appears that we are finding out new and interesting things about each other. Because of our busy work schedules (I was in NY, Lisa was saving the world by teaching tomorrow's leaders about nutrition), we didn't have a chance to celebrate our anniversary until last evening.

Lisa wanted to get out of the Central Valley and take a trip to the 'City to have a relaxing dinner. So, after work on Friday we opted not to take BART, quickly found directions and we were off (only after Lisa grabbed her new wallet --- thanks to Kendra and Audrey; that's ALL she needed).

A little over 1.5 hours and 25 topics later, we arrived at our destination - North Beach. Well, okay - mapquest got us lost once and I was reminded that my Tahoe isn't really meant for city parking. We then walked to a little Italian restaurant recommended by Gina - Firenze By Night Restaurant. An appetizer, a couple of salads, and a wonderful meal later, we were off to explore the SF nightlife. After frequenting a couple of drinking establishments, we decided to call it a night. A short drive home and that's another year in the books. A couple days late and a little unplanned (my specialty), but you know what --- I wouldn't trade the last three years for anything else.

New Addition

I see candlelit dinners in my near future! No more eating breakfast standing up at the island in the kitchen. No more huddling around the coffee table while eating dinner. It sounds silly and I’m not sure why it’s taken so long…but the wait is over. We are the proud owners of a walnut-colored counter height table. Well...it hasn't exactly arrived yet, but was officially ordered last night and shall arrive this weekend!

Status: On Order

This week has been uneventful in the wedding planning arena. We did go shopping for a dining room table and found one that we like. Hopefully that order will be placed next week. We're just about ready to order our engagement pictures. If you're lucky you'll find one in your christmas card...those of you awaiting my handcrafted cards this year, may be disappointed - but you'll have a super cute picture of Dave and I to display in your home :)

We found ourselves a travel agent who happened to plan Shannon and Chad's honeymoon at Sandals in the Bahamas this past spring. Jason and Audrey also spent their honeymoon there and recommended it so we're moving forward with that. So that's the update for all you daily visitors looking to get your David and Lisa fix only to find that we haven't posted anything new! I'm glad everyone enjoyed the Napa trip - that's definitely one for the record books. Send me your photos if you have any good ones!
