Engagement Photo!?!?!

So now that we have been officially engaged for two weeks, I thought it was time for me to sound off. Although many of my friends think of me as having a negative view on a variety of topics, I choose to look at the realistic side.

Today's Topic -- Engagement Photos

What's the deal with this? Where do you go to get them taken? Why do people pay for them? What good are they? I think I would rather show off my wedding photos as opposed to an engagement picture. I can see it now -- look kids, this is when your mom and I paid a couple thousand dollars to get pictures taken for no good reason, but hey, your community college education is turning out okay, huh?

By now, everyone that should know or needs to know about our upcoming date has found out. So then why would I send them a picture? Did they forget who I was? Who my lovely fiance was? Or worse, both of us!!!! So what everyone is telling me that you 'have to go get pictures taken' --- is this normal? Maybe I need to sit back, relax, and take a deep breath and let Lisa take over.

Wow, first post is over and it was only sorta negative. I'm sure it won't be the last venting I do until the 'I do' is said.

Everyone knows about our upcoming date? I don't even know the date! Don't worry, save the dates will be sent out - if you're lucky it will have a lovely snapshot of the happy couple. (We need to fix that time stamp - I better not be posting this at 4am!)

You don't have to spend $$$ on engagement photos. You can always use a nice photo that one of your friends or relatives took. I guess the purpose is to let people know you have found the one you want to spend the rest of your life with & share that info. I think you just send one to the newspapers not everyone you know. We did get a save the date with a photo of the people getting married. That was kind of nice but you could save the photos ones for favorite family members like me!
