Personal Best
As I rounded the corner I could see the finish line. The time clock read 25:00. All I could think about was beating 26 minutes. As I started picking up the pace, something (a man, I believe) flew by me. I had to laugh at the thought of how slow that must have made me look…and remembering David sprinting 20 feet ahead of me in Hawaii when I was at full speed. (You gotta remember, I have short legs.) I turned it up another notch and focused on the finish line. The last race I ran was in July and I finished in 26:10. As I sprinted under the time clock this morning it read 26:00! 26, 26, 26! I didn’t win the race, but 26 minutes is a win in my book.
